Day “6”


Today’s Lunch:  Pizza, Garden Tossed Salad, Fresh Veggies with Dip and Creamy Pudding.


"Are you a middle school student who is making a difference through volunteering? The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards offers top volunteers in each state a cash award, an engraved silver medallion, and a trip to Washington, D.C.  Local honorees who qualify can also receive the President's Volunteer Service award.  Links to the application are on the school’s website.  You can also pick up a flyer in the counseling office with all of the details about applying.  Applications are due by November 7."


Homeroom Teachers – please distribute during homeroom today the Back to School Night Parent Correspondence during homeroom.


STEM Applications are due today.  Please send all signed applications to the Office.


Chamber Choir auditions will be held next Monday, September 25th from 2:30 until 4:00.  Students must have a signed permission slip and a ride home.  See Mrs. Ferguson in D103 for audition permission slips.


A reminder to students:  Water bottles may be carried throughout the day, and there are water stations in the grade level wings and cafeteria. Students will adhere to teachers' directions about where the bottles should be placed during class. Please note, water bottles must be clear and may only contain water - no juice or other beverages; no colored bottles.


Students Breakfast is served every day that school is in session, including half days. If you are having breakfast at school, please go directly to the cafeteria. If you finish breakfast before grade level have been dismissed, you may go to your grade level area - 6th grade, back gym; 7th grade, front gym; and 8th grade, cafeteria.


Next week the Yankee Candle fundraiser will end on September 29th.   All completed fundraiser packets can be brought to the Office.


Audition materials for the Fall Play 16 in 10 Minutes or Less are now available in rooms B100 and D103!  Please read through all materials carefully and return your signed permission slip to Mrs. Jackson, in B100 no later than Tuesday, October 3rd. 

Students:  All cell phones and electronic devices should be turned off each day as you enter the building and must remain off throughout the school day.  Electronic devices may only be used during the school day for educational purposes and if a teacher or administrator gives permission for the use of the device.  You may turn on your device at the end of the day as you exit the building.

Picture Day will be held on October 13th! All staff and students are required to be photographed.   More information will be available at a later date.

Reminder to ALL students:  If you are going home on the bus with another student, a bus note from both parents is needed. The notes should indicate bus number and also a telephone number to contact a parent to verify.   Please place your bus notes in the box outside the Main Office – labeled “Bus Notes” before going to homeroom. Students will not be allowed to call or text parents for any bus notes not brought to school.

Assemblies scheduled for Wednesday, October 4th in the Gym. Tolerance/Respect 7th Grade: 10:15-11:15; Tolerance/Respect 8th Grade: 1:15-2:15; and Anti Bullying - 6 Grade 11:35-12:45.
